Hi just received the LP as a replacement for a 25 year old LP that has given up the ghost. Upon unpacking I noted that instead of a slider switch on the rear of the unit to select P or G there is a red plastic tab! As a DIYer which way should this red tab fit over the pins?
I had assumed that if it was covering the pins on the side with the G it was set up for P and indeed this is the only way it appears to work on my system but when I turn on the heating both green lights come on at the front of the controller! My old unit was set to P A: You will need it in the pumped position for independent heating and hot water.
In the G position, it will bring on the hot water with the heating. The G position is for gravity systems. The P position is for systems with a motorised valve. How do you set the programme on this unit. My daughter has this programmer but no instructions A: You can download the instructions from the downloads tab. There are also several videos on YouTube by Drayton controls. I have an old Lifestyle LP and it appears to be working, but the boiler is staying although the red lights have gone off.
It sounds more like a motorised valve problem. Especially if it keeps running after you turn the thermostats down. I have a lp Does the lp fit the backplate of the lp?
Thanks Jim S A: I have an older mark LP, and recently when we have power cuts the clock and all of the settings reset themselves. I assume that this is because of a problem with the rechargeable battery? Is it possible to replace the battery? It does sound like the battery needs to be replaced. They are not user replaceable. I have a British Gas UP2. Is this the same as the LP? In particular, does it have the 1-hour Boost facility, as opposed to the Advance feature that simply switches over until the next timed event?
The download user manual for the LP does not seem to mention the Boost function as shown on the features list. Garmin bluechart atlantic keygen free.
Yes the UP2 is a rebadged LP Yes, it does have the 1 hour boost aswell as the advance lp22. I have a acl lifestyle ls will this replace it A: Hi, I am replacing barlo epr-1 with room thermostat. Will I be able to connect existing room thermostat to it or I need to get a different one. Op722 so ehat you recommend. This will work with your existing room thermostat. Is this an easy DIY replacement no change in wiring, backplate compatible?
Yes it will plug onto the backplate for a simple 5-minute swap. Hi I have the Drayton sm2 which is beginning to have a mind of its own now. Is this a direct replacement which would involve no backplate removal or wiring? Also what one would you recommend the lp or lp? Yes, it will plug on the existing backplate for a very easy DIY swap. The LP is the more flexible programmer.
Is the clock on the LP radio controlled? It is said to adjust automatically to clock changes, so wonder if this is the lp7222. Our reception is very poor, so I would worry that the thing would take hours or days to obtain the time.
Thank you for your help. No, when installing the unit, you enter the date. The clock then adjusts the time backward or forwards automatically according to the date. If I have the ‘daylight saving’ option set to ‘on’, does this mean that the clock will automatically go back an hour at eth end of October? Does the time switch have a battery back up?
Yes, however Mk1 Tempus 7 had a slightly different backplate. So it may need to be replaced a new one is included. We had new boiler with LP in It has driven me mad trying to reset programme on power loss, now cannot make any sence of the programing after power loss today.
Drayton LP722 Quick Start Manual
Do we need a new unit? If so, I do not want any complications.
Everything the same 7 days a week, just different for water and heating and forget holiday complexities. Just want to get the thing going with no changes on daylight saving. The battery back up on current one is useless unless it has packed up all together. I cannot make sense of the thing right now. I think it needs replacing but keep it idiot proof please.
Do you think latest LP will fill the bill? Or please recommend alternative. If you want the same times every day, then the LP would be better as it does this. It has a much better backup battery now: Yes, you just hold the side button in to access the boost. I have just installed your LP can you advise how long the battery will last, without power on.
Is the battery user replaceable. The battery should outlast the life of the unit, assuming it is only subject to normal infrequent power outages.
It is not user replaceable. Hi is this a direct replacement for an acl Drayton lp from around thanks A: Yes it is Q: On putting on the power via trip switch there is no power to screen hence no heating water. How can I correct. Do I need to replace controller. If there is power to the unit there will also be a fused spur near the programmer and no display, then it will need replacing. Can I just swap these units without the need for a plumber to be involved? Yes it will just clip onto the existing backplate for a simple swap.
I have a LP which I installed way back in Unfortunately the batteries are not user replaceable. You can replace with either the LP or LP It works OK but the backup battery has expired.
The LP appears to be functionally identical, is it a direct replacement? The nearest replacement is the Danfoss Randall TP You will need to change the backplate and sensor, but it will connect to the existing wires. Please see the link below. Is this a direct replacement without any wiring or changes to back plate, does it plug into the original back plate on the Drayton Tempus four weekender?
LP | Drayton Controls : Heating controls, TRVs and thermostats
Yes this is a direct replacement for the Tempus Four, no need for any wire or backplate changes. I have a British Gas UP2 programmer which I understand the LP replaces, can you tell me if the backplate comes with it or has to be ordered separately? Yes one does come with the LP However, you will not need it as the LP will clip on the UP2 backplate. I have a Drayton Tempus 6. Is the LP a direct replacement? I wish to update my central heating programmer but not the boiler and at the same time make it run a wifi xrayton.
Many Thanks Mike A: Yes, they will be fine.

Old Drayton Tempus Three Manual Youtube
Friend has just moved into new house, and go a Drayton Tempus Three timer on
the heating.
I am usually good with such things but just cannot work it out. Two on/off
periods can be set (which I assume are for both HW and CH).
There are two sides to this control for HW and CH, and the following can be
selected
OFF
ONCE
TWICE
CONT
I assume that the control automatically moves between on and off depending
on the time, with the option to overide the programme
What I dont understand is why the rads are not getting hot (no TRV) as there
seems to be no option to switch the HW on auto with CH Off
Can anyone give any help.
p.s I have search the Drayton website for instructions and only get the
Tempus 7 -
http://www.climate-eu.invensys.com/UsersArea/9416905945109775/D35_5%20Tempus%204%20page%20.pdf
This model however has OFF,AUTO, ON, BOOST so I could just put the HW on
AUTO and the CH on OFF.
The way I feel at the moment I will just rip it out and replace with a
CENTAURPLUS C27 ELECTRONIC PROGRAMMER from Screwfix

from a Manual and 7 day timer
